Our Vision
The Dolphin House Shop was set up in June 2003 to support the work of The Children’s Clinic, a Brighton based charity providing subsidised natural health care treatments for babies, children and young people. All profits from the shop go directly to the charity.
Through the sale of affordable natural body care products, high quality supplements and natural remedies, the Dolphin House Shop supports the aims of The Children’s Clinic by fostering good health in the community.
We have a strict buying policy and we can ensure that all our products are free of petro-chemicals and sodium lauryl sulphate, and are organic where possible. We aim to source the highest quality natural products that have minimum impact on the environment and are affordable for all.
We believe that education is the key to enabling people to lead healthier lifestyles and that empowering people with knowledge about health issues will encourage them to make meaningful changes.
We have always been an independent organisation but recognise the benefits of working in partnership with other organisations and local projects. We will continue to source as many products as we can from local producers and distributors and feel that business has a responsibility to support the local community.
Our aim is to achieve full sustainability for the organisation as a whole while continuing to expand and grow all our services so that we may reach a wider audience.
“…. I saw an organisation with a strong ethos and value base and a pretty well-developed organisational ‘culture’ that is shared and bought into. For me this culture is partly entrepreneurial…and partly more traditional in terms of ‘social mission’ – built on strong desire to act to empower those at a disadvantage and to help them to help themselves to better health. In this sense [they are] one of the best examples of a genuine social enterprise that I have come across. “ From our November 2004 Away Day facilitator – Graham Allen.
